Eugene N. Myers MD International Award in Laryngology

It is with great excitement that the ALA announces a new award, Eugene N. Myers MD International Award in Laryngology. This award will be given on an annual basis during the annual meeting to the best scientific presentation from a country outside of the United States of America and Canada. The award will be accompanied with $1,000 check.

Historical Note: – This award is a result of a generous donation from Eugene N. Myers M.D., FACS, FRCS Edin. (Hon) in 2022. Dr.  Myers served the American Laryngological Association as Secretary (1982-87) and as President (1989). He has been an ardent supporter of international cooperation in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck surgery and dedicated to excellence in the ALA.

Purpose: – To establish the Eugene N. Myers MD International in Laryngology Award for an outstanding scientific presentation in the field of Laryngology submitted by an author(s) from a country outside of the United States and Canada.

Administration: – The Eugene N. Myers MD International in Laryngology Award has been established to encourage increased participation in Laryngology from international attendees to the annual meeting. The Award is given for outstanding manuscripts in Laryngology and consists of a suitable sum of money and a certificate from the Association.

The Secretary shall include the Award and provide the criteria on the annual abstract submission form.

The award shall consist of a sum of money not to exceed $1,000. A certificate shall also be presented to the authors(s) at the Annual Meeting of the Association.

Competition for this Award will be limited to those persons whose abstracts are accepted for inclusion on the program of the Annual Scientific Meeting. Those wishing to compete for this Award must submit their completed manuscript no later than the published deadline date. The primary author must certify that they are from a country outside of the United States and Canada.
