COSM 2026 Annual Meeting

 

147th MEETING INFORMATION

The 147th Annual Meeting of the American Laryngological Association (ALA) was held on April 22–24, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. The three half-day event provided a comprehensive agenda that included advanced scientific presentations, panel discussions, and lectures divided into nine scientific sessions.

Our sincere gratitude to the Program Committee chaired by Dr. Jonathan Bock and  members,  Drs. Matthew Naunheim, Thomas Carroll, Ruth Davis, Keith Chadwick, and Rebecca Howell for their dedication in planning a top-notched program.

Below is a summary of event held for attendees.

  • The Neurolaryngology Study Group was held on April 22nd following the conclusion of the ABEA scientific session.  Dr. Rosemary A. Lester-Smith, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, an Associate Professor at the  University of Texas at Austin, Moody College of Communication was the guest speaker and presented “Updates on interdisciplinary assessment and treatment of vocal tremor”.
  •  The  Post-Graduate Membership sponsored the Gerald Berke Breakfast Symposium on Thursday, April 23rd.  Outgoing Steering Committee Chairperson, Dr. Bill Gao, moderated a panel discussion,  “Facets of Building a Clinical Practice Including Branding, Digital Marketing, Referral Networks, and Multidisciplinary Collaboration”  with Drs. Peak Woo, Michael Johns III, and Inna Husain as panelists.
  • The Young Faculty/Practitioner Award was presented to Dr. Bharat Panuganti from St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Selected for Eugene N. Myers MD International Paper Award from Seoul, Republic of South Korea, was Dr. Jeon Seong.
  • Dr. Katherine Gonzalez, of Durham, North Carolina, received the Resident Research Award.
  • Dr. Chloe Santa Maria, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, received the Robert H. Ossoff DMD, MD Post-Graduate Member Best Paper Award.
  • The Casselberry Award was presented to Dr. Seung-Won Lee of Bucheon, South Korea.
  • Dr. Gaelyn Garrett, of Nashville, Tennessee presented the Daniel C. Baker MD Lecture, titled “A Joyful Journey”
  • Dr. Nikki Johnston, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, presented as the State of the Art Lecture,  “Repurposing and Reformulating Fosamprenavir for PPI Refractory LPR and GERD: Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blinded Phase II Clinical Trials”.
