COSM 2023 Annual Meeting

The 144th Annual Meeting of the American Laryngological Association will be held, in conjunction with COSM, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel/Hynes Convention Center, beginning May 3 – 7. 2023.  With three half-day sessions (May 5-7, 2023), President Lucian Sulica and the Program Committee, chaired by Dr. James Burns, will provide scientific papers, panel discussions, and lectures by individuals who are national and international recognized practitioners of our specialty.

We invite you to mark your calendars to join us for three days of exploring our scientific advances in laryngology while continuing the historical meetings that began in 1879 by our predecessors. We encourage you to visit our site frequently for updates on registration opening in January 2023.

COSM 2023 Scientific Programs will take place at the Hynes Convention Center. All business and social events will take place at the Sheraton Hotel. 

 

 TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF ALA EVENTS (subject to change)

MAY 5, 2023 

1:00 PM – President Lucian Sulica will introduce his Guest of Honor, recipients of the Presidential Citations and the 2023 Program Committee.  This will be followed by his President’s Address.

 1:30 PM – First Scientific Session with podium presentations of cutting edge data, panel discussion and lectures

5:00 PM –  2023 Neurolaryngology Study Group with Dr. Cara Stepp as the Guest Lecturer.  We invite you to attend this event and earn additional CME credit.

5:30 PM –   COSM Poster Reception – This event, hosted by  COSM,  returns and provides opportunities to meet the poster presenters.

7:30 PM – The President’s Reception will be held in the evening to honor Dr. Sulica’s term as president.  We encourage you to attend as the recipients of the deRoaldes and Newcomb awards will be presented while listening to musical rendering of a local jazz group.  Tickets may be purchased by the Administrator beginning in February 17, 2023.

MAY 6, 2023

6:00 AM – Plan to attend the Post-Graduate Members Symposium.  As details are finalized, updates will be posted and sent via email to all who register.

7:00 AM – The Business Meeting is scheduled   with the introduction of our 2023 candidates and reports of the Secretary, Treasurer, Editor, and Historian.  Other agenda items will be discussed.

8:00 AM –  Scientific Session (Day 2) – Enjoy more podium presentations of cutting edge data, panel discussion and lectures

MAY 7, 2023

8:00 AM –  Scientific Session (Day 3) – Enjoy more podium presentations of cutting edge data, panel discussion and lectures as the 144th Annual Meeting comes to a close with the introduction of  the President who will preside at the meeting 2024 Annual Meeting in Chicago.

MEDICAL STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS

In addition to multiple awards & scholarships provided by COSM Societies, COSM provides Travel Awards to attend COSM. The purpose of this award is to encourage first and second year medical students to explore careers in Otolaryngology.This year’s application will open early in 2023 and close on March 15, 11:59 PM CT. Priority for awards given will focus on the Northeast region and first and second year medical students. Award winners will receive complimentary registration to COSM 2023 and $250 cash.  To apply, click here for the COSM website
